SixBellsChime Thank you so much Gene & Derek for my subscriber album; it’s really growing on me. Playing it loud is recommended! Somehow it’s not what I expected (which is good) while at the same time ticking all the boxes for my sci-fi horror design. Great use of harsh metallic sounds, motion-tracker-style blips, and space - evoking the tension, dread, isolation and melancholy of the genre. I’m low on ammo and I swear something is following me, but I think I can make it to the escape pod…

Infinite Dark - OST

Infinite Dark is a science fiction survival horror video game. The game is set mainly aboard a claustrophobic but large spacecraft orbiting Mars on a mission to photograph and collect further samples of the terrain and atmosphere.

The player controls civilian botanist Kat Greene who was brought on as a civilian expert in plant-life biology, being told that there might have been a new discovery and they would love to enlist her help. What they didn’t tell her, is that this new discovery had already caused the disappearance and ill-timed deaths of countless others before her.

As Kat begins to piece together the origins of this strange plant, one by one as she returns to the ship, people begin to disappear and systems begin to fail. As things quickly escalate, Kat and Captain Fortner are the lone-survivors and she decides to take the creeping silence outside the ship on head first and on her own in hopes of protecting the Captain for any hope of ever returning home.

With very limited weapons or resources, “Infinite Dark” is much more about survival than it is blowing holes into alien life-forms. Instead, the player must wait patiently and stealthily and use time to their advantage. Just remember, something is always on your back, it’s really best to just keep to the shadows and stay quiet.
